Distractions in Chicago

Greetings from the Windy City!

This week, thankfully, bright and early on Monday morning, it was off to Chicago for a work meeting. Actually, this meeting was originally planned for next week, but silly me thought that I could likely be headed to Vladivostok, Russia then. Silly me!! I have a great time that I work with - so they made the meeting this week.

We did a little planning for 2009 and setting up some new systems, but mostly it was a celebration of a solid 2008. We had drinks at the top of the Hancock Building, ate at Pizzeria Uno and finally a big dinner with most of the region at Joe's Prime House and Stone Crab.

The best part for me was that this trip forced me out of my routine of WAITING. So for a couple of days, I was able to get my mind off things and have fun! My January schedule has been up in the air - since I thought I'd be traveling. I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and plan some work appointments this month anyway. That way if no news comes, I'll still be productive - but maybe this will be my Murphy's Law assistance... if I plan something else, I'll have to go to Russia! Plus all my customers know what's going on, so if I have to reschedule -- they'll understand!

Is it January 12th yet?

Keeping my finger crossed for you. I made all 4 of my trips to Russia in the winter time. It's not for the faint of heart.

Take a hat or people will say over and over something that losely translates to "crazy American woman."

Good luck! It's the adventure of a life time!

Thanks for posting on my blog, I don't think I could mix those things up either. Do you have any ideal when the time is coming for travel? I know you are getting excited! Maybe six to 9 more months for me but every day it gets closer!

When we were waiting for the "call" I made plans to go visit my friend in Colorado. 2 days later the call came, I went to CO and did all the travel prep from there. We left a week after I got home. Make plans. :)
