Hook, Line & Sinker...

That's it.  I am done.  Tatiana has truly stolen my heart!!  Today was a wonderful day with her.  She's just so completely precious.

We didn't have to go back to see Scary Tatiana today - so Rhonda and I even managed to squeeze in a morning nap.  AAAHHHH.  At 12:30pm we were off to see Little Tatiana again.  We arrived after her lunch time - and after a few crocodile tears, she was in great spirits.  She's cried a little each day we've seen her, but today it was MUCH less (only in the beginning).  I believe that the change from her daily schedule is so abnormal for her, that it was upsetting at first.  Now it seems that she's reveling in the added attention.

We played inside for a while and then we were allowed to take her outdoors again.  Such a welcome break from the sauna temperatures of the baby home.  I was expecting COLD weather here this week and packed a couple sweaters.  It's been VERY mild, and they keep the baby homes toasty warm - getting outside is wonderful.

Tatiana likes being outside.  She's super curious and fascinated with leaves and sticks.  Thankfully we have lots of those in Michigan!  She loves to cruise around and gets so excited that she will trip her feet on the very uneven payment outside.  We saw a koshka (kitty!) in the yard today while we were outside - and she wanted to chase after him.  My 3 furries at home are going to LOVE that!  (not)

She's really a sponge for knowledge right now too.  She was saying "yes" with me today and my newest most favorite word... MAMA.  Yup, she called me mama today.  Not sure she knows the meaning just yet, but I'll take it all the same!  My little Riley is going to have a ball with her!

So now it's official.  I signed the letter of intent to adopt her while at the notary this afternoon.  Her birthday is tomorrow -- she'll be two, and thankfully, I get to spend it with her.  We purchased some yogurt, juice an cookies for her and her group - along with the bear I brought with to leave behind - for her birthday celebration.

So now comes the waiting (AGAIN!).   My coordinator, Ivan, says that typically it's 2 months.  But if you do the math - that's Christmas.  They celebrate here from 12/31-1/10, and he's not sure we can pull everything off by then - paperwork, court and wait time.  So keep those fingers crossed!  It's going to be a long couple months!!

That is so awesome that you get to spend Tatiana's birthday with her. I know she will love the bear. Riley has mastered her name after 2 days of refusing to say it, I suspect because she was afraid she couldn't say it. The girls are so excited to see Tatiana. Riley says she will share her toys.(We'll see how that goes.LOL) She wants Tatiana to come to our house to play. BTW we love her name. It is perfect. The girls want to learn some basic Russian so they can talk to Tatiana when she gets home. Shower preparation is underway. Of course with a few modifications. Sooo, when do we paint her room pink...HaHa You have alot of shopping and preparation to keep you busy the next 2 months, hopefully it will fly by. We can't wait until she gets home. I guess you won't be at Riverside on Friday...HaHa. We are excited to see more pics and her all about Tatiana when you get home.
Have a safe trip. We Love you...

Happy Birthday Tatiana! So happy you get to spend it with your mommy this year.

Hoping/praying you get a speedy court date. The wait in between trips can be excruciating but is soon forgotten once your little one is home!

Hooray! Happy Birthday to your little Tatiana! Oh, my impatient friend, you're going to have a hard time waiting, I know. But everyone else is right - you'll have to switch things at home from boy to girl and now that you have met her and know her abilities you can research classes (gymnastics, music, etc.) that will be appropriate and get things ready. Plus you'll have to do all of your Christmas shopping because there's always a chance that you'll be traveling during our holidays. SO excited for you!

Oh yea!!!!!! And like many have said, the wait time will seem long, but with lots to prepare for and the holidays I bet you will be pretty occupied!! I have such a peace in my heart for you!!! I can't believe how this is all turning out, but it also couldn't be more perfect!! One other question....'cause you know I want to start sending stuff!...is she a little 2? I assume, since most are quite small at the baby homes...do you have an idea on size?? Can't wait to catch up once you get home. Enjoy the birthday party (just the first of many that you can elaborately plan!!) and travel safe!!

Ames, girl.....that wait to go back is going to be HARD! I will help you pass the time as much as I can....I am always here and would love to listen to you complain about the wait or talk about your little girl. I'm living vicariously through you! I'll be praying nightly for your quick return to your baby.
Hugs, love and God bless,
Angie

Hi Amy - I am the "other Amy" from our adoption agency - found your blog through Rachel and realized you are with our agency. This is really crazy cuz you met your daughter one year EXACTLY on the same day we met our son!!! And - to help you feel better we came back December 21 (the best Christmas gift ever!) even after a three week wait in Russia. Feel free to email anytime - and CONGRATS!!
